sakon76: (Twin Terrors)
Chapter six of Twin Terrors is now done. And 50% longer than any of the previous chapters! I'm sitting on it for tonight so that I can go to bed at a reasonable hour (formatting it for lj takes a while) and so that I can review it tomorrow after work with fresh eyes. But just letting y'all know there will be fic tomorrow night. ^_^

And, having been a good girl and translated an episode of UM today, I yield to prodding and to seasonality and present the following next chapter. Merry Christmas, all.

This fic is due largely to [livejournal.com profile] nicole_dyria posting images here of the brand-new, extremely drool-worthy Lamborghini Reventon redone in Sunstreaker and Sideswipe's colors. That and the fact that Sunny and Sides accepted this as an acceptable alternative to the back story of their college encounter with Prowl in "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." Hunny's helicopter is a nod to rally driver Colin McRae, who died in a crash this weekend.

Well, the cupboards and pantry got tidied, the laundry room has been nudged, I can see the futon even if it's not fully uncovered yet, my desk is somewhat more visible, and I've cut out and hemmed the fabric for a handkerchief-hem skirt I'm making myself out of some 58" purple raw silk I've been hanging onto for a while. Tomorrow I'll sew on the black velvet ribbon I've been holding back for the project and decide if I want to go for two layers or just keep it simple. I sorted through our old anime magazines and culled them down by at least two-thirds; I have *counts* eleven that got kept for various reasons. I also poked a bit more at "My Brother, My Secret, Myself" to make it mesh better with the Ouran Host Club anime, and went though my list of costumes-to-do and decided there's no way I can make something competition-worthy by PMX, so I'm going to take it easy and not bother and maybe make a Halloween costume or two instead. Maybe even enter Simplicity's Halloween costume contest this year, since they have those two Regency patterns I want to try. I'm told they're even relatively accurate. (If anyone wants to inform me differently, I welcome the information.) So despite a heavy attack of the blahs this afternoon, significant progress was in fact made today, which pleases me greatly. Of course, I still haven't swept the upstairs bathroom, much less regrouted the tub, much less even looked at the stuff under the stairs and in our bedroom. But it's a beginning.

Saw PotC2 today. Thought it wasn't quite as good as the first one, but still liked it.

Also watched Ouran 15... I think I liked the manga version slightly better, but I'll hold off on full judgement until I see how well the anime pulls off 16. Also, purchased the rest of the Ouran manga. ^_^ As well as MegaTokyo 4 and the first Clamp Campus Paranormal Investigators novel. The CCPI book is amusing, and I'll probably buy others because I happen to know that my beloved trio show up in 'em. Highlights, though, were (1) an obscure mention of a certain onmyouji, (2) the fact that a minor character is apparently a dead ringer for Hokuto, given the illustration of her, and (3) what is it with the Takamura boys falling in love with kindergarteners whilst in elementary school? Is it like a genetic trait or something?

The weather here is hot, but Wonderful Husband and I are fortunate in living relatively near the sea (onshore breezes) and having the northmost residence in our block of four semi-detached houses (no southern wall or windows). Plus when the front door and patio door are both open we have a lovely cross-breeze. I think our cat (she who has a full coat of fur) appreciates this too. Watered the garden this morning and tidied it up this afternoon, tying up wandering tomato branches, dead-heading the hydrangeas, coiling up the hose and in general putting things away. It looks much better now. And now that the kitchen is under control too, I'll probably have another glass of sun tea and work on the dining room. Maybe sew a mock-up for Rhapsody in Gold this weekend, now that I've got my machine back....

I am stalking the torrent for episode 15 of Ouran High Host Club. I want it. It will be mine. It aired on Tuesday--why is the raw not already on my hard drive? Mwah.

My inlaws sent me an unexpected gift, The Tudor Tailor. It's making me want to Renfaire costume, but at the moment I need to work on WorldCon costumes. Well, at the moment I actually can't work on much of anything as I've not got my sewing machine back from the shop yet....

And that is the state of the K-chan.

Saw Superman Returns yesterday. I am... charmed. It's a superhero movie that doesn't feel like a superhero movie. It leaves certain things unresolved (as they so often are in real life) without them being the blatant opening to a sequel that loose ends so often used as in film. That said, I'm pleased that IMDB lists a sequel as announced. And I also end up being very pleased that something I questioned (which is spoilery, so I'll not mention it here) from reading the synopsis was, in fact, dealt with. That end scene just about broke my heart, it was so well played.

We got several mediocre trailers with the film, the only one I want to see being Spider-Man 3. Oh, and I was finally able to watch the Transformers trailer online... hmm, are they going with shades of War of the Worlds here, what with the Mars thing and all?

But mostly I am happy. Didn't do any writing today, but I stopped at the bookstore after work and browsed through volumes 2-6 of the Ouran Host Club manga, which leaves me so looking forward to the next several episodes. I intend to buy the manga at some point, but not today... mostly wanted to get a better grasp of the twins' characters since [livejournal.com profile] iaurcalien had mentioned there was more yet to be seen in there about them. (And oh yes, her teasing about their bedroom was right on....) So I edited "My Brother" somewhat to fit each of them better. Which meant reassigning/adapting lines in one whole conversation. Have also started watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (who is like a 180 from Haruhi Fujioka), again on [livejournal.com profile] iaurcalien's recommendation and it's interesting... hooked me around episode 4, though it's third on my watching list, replacing the completed Princess Princess.

Hah. In addition to finishing two stories this weekend, I've also finished polishing four others. "Outside of Time" and "The Dancing Princesses" are both Princess Tutu stories and are now posted at my website, as is "The Education of Fujioka Haruhi," an Ouran Host Club story, and "Lost Magic: The Eyes of a Stranger," a crossover between Weiss Kreuz and MahoutsukaiTai! So now a good portion of my backlog is cleared out and I can maybe go see Superman Returns. ^_^

Hah. Finally finished. I blame the Hitachiins for having me stalled one and a half scenes from the end for most of today. But now I can go back to writing Princess Tutu fic. Oh, and I don't think this is in the same mien as "The Education of Haruhi Fujioka" because it doesn't have the same feel to it. Nonetheless it tackles the same OT3.

Argh. Not done! And still very drafty. But we had a lovely time at the Bowl, even if we ran into three separate traffic jams on the way up and were thus about a half hour late.

fic here! )

I had a plotbunny today. Kind of a OHHC story as if it were set in a universe more like Koko wa Greenwood or Please Save My Earth. Or even Lady Killer. Um. A warning for twincest, and this is very drafty and probably not where the story will end up being broken, but it's bedtime and I wanted to post this tonight.

fic here! )

Okay, Ouran episode 13 made me want to drag out my Carroll and reread it. Ouran 14? I so cannot believe they pulled a *spoiler* *spoiler* *spoiler* *spoiler*.

[livejournal.com profile] aishuu, you hit the nail on the head with your story. Congrats!

He watches episode 9 of Ouran High Host Club and identifies not only the handhelds the twins are playing their game on, but also the game and that it's about fifteen years old and not made for either of those handhelds.

This is me being amused and going to slice up fabric now....

Yes, I know it's slightly OOC for one of the twins.
