A beginning to a tidy life

Well, the cupboards and pantry got tidied, the laundry room has been nudged, I can see the futon even if it's not fully uncovered yet, my desk is somewhat more visible, and I've cut out and hemmed the fabric for a handkerchief-hem skirt I'm making myself out of some 58" purple raw silk I've been hanging onto for a while. Tomorrow I'll sew on the black velvet ribbon I've been holding back for the project and decide if I want to go for two layers or just keep it simple. I sorted through our old anime magazines and culled them down by at least two-thirds; I have *counts* eleven that got kept for various reasons. I also poked a bit more at "My Brother, My Secret, Myself" to make it mesh better with the Ouran Host Club anime, and went though my list of costumes-to-do and decided there's no way I can make something competition-worthy by PMX, so I'm going to take it easy and not bother and maybe make a Halloween costume or two instead. Maybe even enter Simplicity's Halloween costume contest this year, since they have those two Regency patterns I want to try. I'm told they're even relatively accurate. (If anyone wants to inform me differently, I welcome the information.) So despite a heavy attack of the blahs this afternoon, significant progress was in fact made today, which pleases me greatly. Of course, I still haven't swept the upstairs bathroom, much less regrouted the tub, much less even looked at the stuff under the stairs and in our bedroom. But it's a beginning.
