This was a fun weekend.

Friday after Wonderful Husband got home from work we jaunted up to Van Nuys where we met up with [livejournal.com profile] haamel, [livejournal.com profile] hoshikage, [livejournal.com profile] iaurcalien, and [livejournal.com profile] seshat and went out to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I ended up getting something called a Tuna Tatini Salad, which is now my default favorite dish at TCF. I still maintain my purity, however, in having never had the cheesecake there. ^^;

Saturday I picked up my friend Liz and we went up to Farthingales L.A. where we both drooled rather a lot over their corsets, recognized the proprietress as a Costume College person, and Liz spent money on the boning and such for the camo corset she's working on. We then drove down the street to F&S Fabrics, where we wandered through room after room of Really Nice Stuff and bought a few remnants each. Then it was to Torrance and dashing through the rain to the JoAnn ETC store there where we each picked up a couple more fabric-y things (it being her birthday I bought Liz some calico she was looking at for a Regency dress), and then to Mitsuwa in the same city where we had lunch (with melon cream soda, yum!). Unfortunately Mitsuwa was out of Aquarius! The only store where I can regularly get my favorite Japanese sports drink, and they were out! *mourns*

Sunday I took Wonderful Husband to the airport where he flew up to San Jose for a training session that lasts through Thursday. However, this isn't all bad as we have lots of friends in the area and thus he has people to hang with in the evenings should he so choose. In the meantime I buckled down to house cleaning (or at least tidying) and working on the Regency dress mockup. I currently have two waist seams left and the cuff and skirt hems left and it's ready to try on. With any luck it'll fit me as perfectly as the chemise and short stays from the same set of patterns did, and I can get started on the real thing. Went over to dinner at my parents' (corned beef and cabbage, always good!), and discovered their cat (Harley, one of the Sith trio of kittens) actually does have a voice but will be losing other bits of his anatomy this Thursday. I spent the rest of the evening clearing off some of my backlog while doing pinning and sewing and waiting for [livejournal.com profile] haamel and [livejournal.com profile] hoshikage to show up to spend the night.

I've now watched through the end of Ouran High School Host Club and find the differences from the manga mostly intriguing; all in all a good adaptation, I think. I also watched episode 40 of Ultraman Moebius. We need a counter for how many times Mirai has woken up in the infirmary. I'd hoped to watch episode 41 and the movie with [livejournal.com profile] hoshikage, but she arrived at ten minutes to midnight and unfortunately I had work today. Ah well; life is like this. Got up this morning and did a bit more tidying of stuff, watered the garden, clipped back the dead growth on one of my mint plants, and came in to work. I'd forgotten to reset my alarm from wake-up-at-8:00-to-take-Wonderful-Husband-to-airport to wake-up-at-7:00-to-go-to-work, but my natural alarm clock kicked in around 7:40, so it was okay. Alarm is now reset. ^^;; And that, in a nutshell, was my weekend.
