Some days I can do all the things. Some days I can do few of the things. And some days, like today, I manage to do all the things and it makes me giddy because I did not think all the things were going to get done.

And since I got all the things done today, that means that tomorrow I get to play and go to a meeting of another local quilt guild. This guild meets during the day, which is the reason I've not gone before. But next year they're going to have a guest lecturer/teacher I would really like to take classes from, so.... My parents have agreed to watch Squiddle for me for a few hours while I test the waters.

Today was also Wonderful Husband's first tumble into the election process since gaining his US citizenship. Unfortunately, this is a busybusybusy week at work for him, which means very long hours, so he essentially had to go on his lonesome to vote as soon as the polls opened. :( Not the initial voting experience I wanted for him. I walked over to our polling place with Squiddle in his stroller early this afternoon. He fell asleep before we even got there, and stayed asleep when we got back and I transferred him into his bed for naptime. ^_^ Which was when I got all the remaining things done.

I was considering doing NaNoWriMo this year. Or as much of it as an active toddler would let me. But then I realized that there are other things I want to do instead. Like prep for next month's vacation. Currently I'm sewing the Squiddle a coat. He has never been in cold weather and will need a good coat for England. And for me it's a treat - I pulled some 100% wool out of my stash. I've never sewn with wool before. So I got to research how to pre-shrink it without felting it. I'm also stretching my sewing skills by using tailor's tacks for the first time! Also a press cloth. Hopefully by the end of the week he'll have a quite smart gray wool coat with red baby rickrack trim and a sky blue silk lining to keep him warm. And after that there are a few other things I want to sew in the mornings and evenings and while he naps.

So I've decided to shunt a month of writing to next month. When we'll be in England and my inlaws may be persuaded to play with the baby for a stretch of time while I attempt to pound words into the laptop via keyboard.

But for now to finalize my voting choices.

Had a busy weekend. Finished the bathroom (in the morning light, it looks very 1950s turquoise), trimmed back rosebushes and geraniums that just don't know when to quit, and had a brief surprise visit from [livejournal.com profile] racerxmachina and [livejournal.com profile] roseembolism, who happened to be in the area. Also firmed up plans for Kyri to come visit us over Thanksgiving!

Tried to go see Wreck-It Ralph. Showings were sold out, so instead we got takeout and went home and I forced Wonderful Husband to watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Which he had never seen before. Which lack boggles me.

Have done my homework for tomorrow's civic duty. I just loooooove slogging through the arguments and rebuttals full of block capital paragraphs. On the other hand, I will honestly love it when, come Wednesday, the airwaves and my mailbox stop being flooded with political crap.

Despite my polling place opening a full hour after when it was supposed to, I did my civic duty this morning and voted. They gave me a sticker. I guess we never really get past age five, when stickers were rewards?

Voting time rolls around again tomorrow, and since I'm meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] flybystardancer for dinner, I will be voting before work. Fortunately my polling place is just around the corner from home. Thus, today I have reviewed the material and issues.

One of the propositions on the ballot is an issue I don't care about one way or the other. What does it say that I thus tend toward the side whose argument does not sound like someone trolling on the Internet? Seriously, guys, hire a writer who is not emotionally invested in the issue. One who can present a calm, reasoned argument and a logical rebuttal. Because your impassioned italics and BLOCK CAPS EMPHASIS has just lost you my vote.

Did my civic duty and voted.

Came home and found that I'm down one kitten. Two to go!

Went to Fry's with Wonderful Husband, picked up an ergonomic keyboard for him and the Indiana Jones trilogy for me. Went to swing dance class and got rather a nice compliment from our instructor as well as a new set of posture/muscle connections to work on.

Petted the remaining two kittens within an inch of their lives for over an hour, only to have protests of "help! rape! fire! murder! abuse! oppression!" when I put them into their bed for the night. No appreciation.

Tomorrow I get to start my turn caring for Chess, the wild tailless Siamese who we think is the kitten-mama. I'm hoping to drop her off at home after work and pop over to Kinokuniya. Hopefully they'll have the Ultraman: Moebius calendar for me to check out, and I can place an order for three books I'd rather like to have.

All in all, I've been feeling like I really need something new to read, so maybe I'll also stop by the furuhonya opposite Kino and see if they have anything I want in the English language section....

And tomorrow evening, I promise, I'll be good and translate the summary for Moebius 32 and finish the episode on Moebius 31.
