Today, in the ongoing interaction between two cultures which is our marriage, Wonderful Husband and I discovered the following:
- that British lemonade is carbonated while American is not, but that they both taste the same
- that we can actually think of only a very few words that are spelt differently (colour, honour, valour, theatre, tyre, and aluminium)
- and that Daylight Savings time will shortly no longer be the same between the UK and USA, which will be annoying as far as phone calls and the like go.
I also discovered that my local public library system has not only Jean Hunnisett's books, which I knew about, but Norah Waugh's as well. Unfortunately tomorrow is a government holiday so the libraries will be closed.
Instead of cracking on the project and getting my skirt waistband sewn in I read this evening instead, finishing off Ill Met By Moonlight. I'll be interested to read the next book in the series. I'm liking it so far. Mercedes Lackey is really redeeming herself by writing something that actually seems researched. I've also finished John Ringo's Emerald Sea, so the next to pick up in that series is Against The Tide.
