progress / anti-progress

Yay, the purple raw silk handkerchief hem skirt is done. Sewed the waistband on by hand, occasionally asking myself why, then reminding myself that I don't trust my sewing machine not to bunch up the bias parts of the skirt no matter how frequently I pin it, and besides it's good for me. I did use the machine for the buttonhole, though. But now I'm stuck with the dilemma of what to do with the rest of it. I've got about five yards left on the bolt and I'd like to finish it off. I think it would be a fabulous color on Wonderful Husband, but I doubt he'd wear it. Ah well, I can but ask.

Made dinner tonight--pot roast in the new crock pot, which turned out rather well, with Irish soda bread and apple pie. Amusingly enough, when I called my mother to invite her and Dad over for dinner, she was planning the same thing. Great minds think alike? And (haha!) all the ironing is now done. Except for the purple skirt. Which I'm wearing right now. And I think it can probably go unironed to work tomorrow. And since the crockpot is now proven to be a happy working thing, the old one can go over to the Goodwill this weekend along with a lot of other stuff.

And somehow, despite productivity in some areas, I didn't manage to finish either of my weekend goals, so no watching either Ultraman or Kamen Rider today.... :(
