Have caved and used Martha McCain's petticoat pattern from Simplicity's "this is not Shakespeare in Love, no, really" pattern instead of Alcega's. Mainly for ease of being able to remove the boning for transportation. This, however, means I can anticipate cutting lots of 1.5" wide bias strips tonight. In the meantime, a bit of housecleaning has been done this morning but I need to do a lot more when I get home from work/gym tonight.

Thud.

Back from gym. In pain, mostly of the headache variety.

May need to get shorts if I am going to continue gym-ing during the hot summer and fall.

Wonderful Husband has popped me some corn. Unfortunately this was the last of the popcorn, but fortunately I am planning to go to AAA tomorrow morning (passport photo) and the AAA office is right next to Henry's Marketplace which has things like big bins of flour, sugar, and, oh yeah, *popcorn*.

K-chans do not do microwave popcorn.

So yesterday I hit Borders because this entire week at work was slow and I wanted to have something to read. It actually picked up a bit--I got through MegaTokyo 3, but only 2/3 of The Hallowed Hunt. I was expecting to finish off both at work. I wonder if it's a bit of an off year for some of my favorite authors. Though I liked THH and I also liked Guy Gavriel Kay's The Last Light of the Sun, they were neither of them their author's best works. THH suffered from a slow beginning and a weak epilogue, as well as a main character who's not as... likeable? interesting?... as Bujold's usual. I found it hard to get into, though I *did* like her Norse character. TLLotS suffered from being too short for the Kay's style and too self-pleased with its references to his other books. Hopefully both of their next books will return to their usual standard.

Against next week being slow, maybe I should return to classic lit... I think Shakespeare, perhaps. For now, after I finish my popcorn, I shall sew.

A Star Wars costume exhibit at FIDM later this year. I'm trying not to convince myself that I want to order the expensive version of the book that goes-with... even if it does have 16 additional color pages. Fifty dollars = maybe affordable. $175 (at WalMart's website) = outta my budget.
