At Fanime.

Got to visit my grandfather and aunt and uncle and cousins, which was interesting. Grandpa's in an assisted care facility (a very nice one, Lisa) that he swears he will be out of any day now. Unfortunately, I severely doubt it. His longtime pronoun confusion among family members is worse than ever, and his mind is definitely wandering. My uncle (my dad's youngest brother) is stark gray now, as is his wife. My parents are both still mostly dark blonde with silver streaks. I've always held it shows the mentality and lifestyle differences. My cousins were fun to remeet. The elder is now a high school senior and may be going to college in SoCal, which would be fun. She's a singer and has already been approached by Disney. Woot!

Currently at the con, rooming with six of my nearest and dearest. ConOps is far more interesting and chaotic than Info Desk was last year. Should actually go get dressed and head out. Am due to work opening shift at 7am. Badge has nifty HikaGo art. Will report back later, maybe.

Worked ConOps from 7am until 2pm. Gave a lot of staffers their badges. We also started selling the staff shirts today. Bought mine, XXL same as last year because it's shrunk in the wash to be just comfortably large. Did not know about the staff autograph session and so by the time I got there Sadamoto was gone. Hoping I may be able to get his autograph at the general con session on Sunday. Will only be me versus five thousand fans.

Did a run through dealer's room. Not a ton of things I wanted, but some. Got some lamica and a shitajiki. The cheap pin prices seem to have gone up from $2/pin to $4/pin, which sucks.

Today is the first day in years I've been at an anime con and not been in costume. It felt rather strange, especially when I was walking around with Sionna as Garnet. Ah well. I have Ovelia and Sumomo with me for tomorrow and tomorrow. I saw two other Sumomos today. My costume, lack of bustier aside, is much better. The general level of costumes at this con seems to be three or four good ones and a whole pack of average or sub-average ones. Sionna was called a goddess at one point. Though, oddly, few people seemed to know who Garnet was....
