I want to write fanfiction. (Probably not going to happen. My concentration is SHOT these days.) I can't find a way to fit the Bumblebee movie satisfactorily into Bayverse, and thus Simulacra'verse, shy of Bumblebee sidling up to Lennox and suggesting "I know this mechanic you should hire..." But where it would go from there, I have no idea.

What I do have an idea for is that after the events of Bumblebee, every so often Charlie gets a phone call. There's no one on the other end of the line. But there's a buzzing like a little bumblebee. And maybe a snippet of song. Maybe Lionel Ritchie? "I just called / to say / I love you...." And she knows who it is. So Charlie talks. She tells Bee what's going on in her life. It's a one-sided conversation. And it goes on for years. It only happens when he thinks he's safe. When he thinks he won't be traced, or can get out of Dodge fast, because who knows if Sector 7 is still monitoring Charlie. But it's enough for both of them. Because it has to be enough.

Until one day the Autobots finally have a base, and a treaty, and he can openly be friends with her again without endangering her from her own people.

(The Decepticons, of course, are another story. But then they always are.)

So there's a little headcanon for a fanfiction I'll probably never get to write, but y'all feel free to enjoy it and make it your own as well if you want.

Headcanon accepted! Protectobot Beginningsverse is a free-for-all gesmush of whatever canon or fanon I find interesting, along with stuff-I-just-made-up, so Charlie can probably hang out somewhere in there! Project Resetverse would be harder, as I try to stick to Bayverse canon up to DoTM, but I made that rule, I kin break it too muahahaha ^^

And I hear you on the concentration, and lack thereof - I've had all this vacation time this month, but such a backlog of life stuff to take care of from this year, I've just barely gotten my brain back to even thinking of writing, but not so far as to *actually* writing, and time off is done after this week and it'll be time to tackle the giant backlog of work stuff from the vacation time *flops*

And omg I hear ya on the lack of concentration. I haven't been able to be creative in at least *some* capacity or other for MONTHS. On the writing front, it's been over a year since I wrote/posted anything.

Someone rec'd one of your TF fics on pillowfort, and I read it (somehow missed it the first time around +boggles+) and decided to see if you were still alive. Which is silly, because I knew you were but yeah, blaming galaxy brain. Anyway... I love that little idea, and after your eldest starts school maybe you can expand on it a little. I think I'm still subscribed to your journal, so when/if you do update I'll see it.

Good luck with the house thing, btw. I've hard it's a b*tch and a half trying to sell a house while still living in it. I've only ever rented apartments, so I wouldn't know. Just... good luck.
