Onmyouji ^_^
Mar. 23rd, 2006 08:18 amLast night I put on Onmyouji while I sewed, as it's a movie I've watched often enough that I don't need to /watch/ it, Japanese dialogue or not. Plus it's so slashy (always a plus). And, darnit, YES, Nomura Mansai's Seimei is half-kitsune! One thing I love about the movie is the body count and my reaction to it: "okay, a ritual purification here... and another one there... and the emperor's not going to be able to approach that entire wing for weeks, I just know it...." ^_^ I think I wouldn't "get" it half as much as I do, though, if I hadn't taken all those Japanese history and Classical Japanese classes while at UCI.
And I've finished sewing down the trim on the outside of the jacket... now I just need to take care of all the trim on the inside. And I've decided that I hate Sulky's rayon thread. But I've gotten two costumes out of this one spool now (Sophia and Fuu) and hopefully will never have to use the stuff again.
