Feeling Poor
Jul. 13th, 2013 07:31 pmWe went today and ordered the Amish-construction glider and ottoman we had previously decided on for Squiddle's room. Which was not cheap! Then we came home and discovered our car insurance bill came in the mail. As did several other bills. So I am feeling whimper-y about money at the moment.
Therefore, it is a certain ameliorating pleasure that I had previously spent only $16 at estate sale-y things this week. Of that, $9 was an absolute steal - a 1956 Singer 99, pristine in its carrying box, missing only the bobbin cover plate. It doesn't have a manual, but seriously, it looks like it was rarely used and only once or twice since the last time it was serviced. No lint buildup or anything. The rest of what I got was size 30 crochet thread, two runners, and several vintage crochet/knitting booklets.
