The Weekend
Jan. 29th, 2006 09:18 pmUgh.
The good: people! I got to see people this weekend!
racerxmachina,
roseembolism, and
swordkitty and
seshat, whom I do not often get to see as they are up in the Bay Area and I'm down here in the Los Angeles basin. And fun stuff was done, including yarn shopping, Book Off, Little Tokyo (walked away with five manga including *squee!* the first three volumes of the new Kaimu Tachibana series!, and the '06 Clamp calendar), dinner with friends, a trip to the Mitsuwa $.98 marketplace which is now offering tansu and kimono and obi (though, alas, not for $.98), a kimono show in an antique mall, lunch at Mitsuwa in Torrance (yay for large bottles of Aquarius!), lots of cat petting, good breakfasts, and video game playing by people who are not me.
The bad: the stomach flu. I've never thrown up in the restroom of a restaurant before. Fortunately all that was in my stomach at that point was water and a piece of toast. But I felt better enough afterward to tackle more water and a plate of rice, all of which came back up at a quarter to one in the morning. Again, felt better afterward. But overall... ick. And if I'm feeling as lousy/weak/drained tomorrow morning as I have today, I'm considering calling in sick to work.
