Well, let's see.
Last night Wonderful Husband and I went to my cousin's school play of "Aladdin." Said cousin (fourteen years of age) played the part of the Genie, and was very good in the role. But then we've known for a couple of years that he's a natural actor. Strange thing is, I remember holding him a day after he was born. Somehow he got from there to here. Weird. Stranger thing is the realization that (hopefully, knock on wood) someday in about eighteen or so years, I'll hopefully be in the position his parents are, helping with the school performances and all. But it was nice, haven't seen my aunt and uncle and cousins (and aunt Debi's mother, Nancy, and youngest sister Annie who's one day younger than me) for a while.
And today I've been working on finishing off my chemise and think I'll have it done by bedtime, save for maybe the hooks and eyes at collar and cuff. The collar and cuff linen is different (heavier and therefore easier to embroider) than the body linen, but unless someone looks closely it should be okay. After this I'm going to abstain from hand-sewing for a while, as I'm starting to feel it a touch in my right wrist. But it's been good experience and I will have an undergarment which will last me a good many years for 'Faire and other such activities. Will maybe post pictures when it's done.
I watched the newest episode of Papillon Rose while pinning pleats in, and found myself amused by the tropes and intrigued by the possibilities left open at episode's end. I'm also sooooo just waiting for Kurimoto to end up dating Shizuku/Papillon Marguerite and discover that the sweet, smart one is also the bondage queen. Because they've taken out 99% of the series' sexual content, but there's no denying that she's the one who ties the enemies up... and in this episode uses a ball gag to help subdue them. ^_^;; If I ever cosplayed from this series, I think I'd want to be Anne/Papillon Lily, though that's mainly because I could get away with using my own hair. However, I'm about 40 pounds away from that possibility, and I keep looking at their shoes and wincing. It probably says something: "turned off of a possible cosplay by ugly shoes."
Also watched the first episode of "Shinigami no Ballad." It's slice-of-life-y, but I like the title character and will probably continue watching just to find out more about her.
