Heartbreak and Hearthealing
Oct. 27th, 2010 12:16 pmYesterday Sal at Already Pretty asked her readers what they wish their mothers had taught them. Some of the stories are simply heartbreaking.
Today, for the flipside, she asked her readers for the positive side: valuable things their mothers did teach them.
For the record, my mother is awesome and all kinds of wonderful. She instilled in me the belief that I can do anything, the knowledge that that curves are sexy, the abilities to cook and sew and dance, gave me a love of thrift stores and antique malls, and most importantly, let me know that I am worthy of being loved, and that she'll love me no matter what. I don't need makeup to feel beautiful: that is something that comes from within.
