Title: Glamour in Glass
Author: Mary Robinette Kowal
Length: 319 pages
A thing about being sick is, it means I'm less inclined to do other stuff, and more inclined to sit still and read as I can. Of course, it doesn't hurt that this series continues to be a smooth read.
In volume 2, Jane and her husband are off to Belgium for their belated honeymoon. Which unfortunately coincides with Napoleon's escape from Elba. Political shenanigans ensue.
I'd been curious how Kowal would go with this series once beyond the (relatively formulaic) Regency romance of volume one, and I'm pleased that this book seems (to me) to be even better than the first. Possibly because it doesn't have that formula to follow, and thus can have more twists and turns?
Verdict: recommended.
