Knocking Stuff Out
Aug. 15th, 2014 10:48 pmI've been doing some sewing the last couple days. Finished a "dancing nine patch" baby quilt top made out of a roll of wadded up purple floral cabbage (for the non-sewers: cabbage is the bits of fabric left over after you've cut your pattern out) I found in the "free" bin at Costume College. I really should have taken a picture of it when I got it, so I could do a "before" and "after" set. The finished top's really rather pretty, and I have a recipient in mind for the quilt. After that was done, I fixed one of my summer dresses (side tie had come out), turned one of Wonderful Husband's work shirts into a short-sleeved version (due to a hole having appeared in the elbow), and tonight I started re-quilting the "Baby Rainbows" quilt I made for Squiddle. I'm about 3/4 of the way through the quilting, and only stopped because my walking foot broke. Grr. Tomorrow I need to stop in at the sewing machine shop and ask if there's a simple fix for it, or if not, buy a new one. Probably the latter. For now, bed.
