Title: A Time-Travel Christmas
Author: Megan Daniel, Vivian Knight-Jenkins, Eugenia Riley, Flora Speer
Length: 443 pages

The other day, I picked up secondhand a few romance books that looked mildly interesting. This one is a 1992 anthology whose theme is exactly what the title implies. The four stories contained are all mildly interesting and, surprisingly, pretty well researched. They take the reader to Gilded Age New York (heroine stays in the past), Colonial America (heroine returns to the present and meets hero's reincarnation), Dickensian London (hero stays in the past), and medieval England (heroine returns to the present, both she and hero, separated by centuries, keep themselves open to love again as they'd promised, and eventually marry someone else). There's a set number of ways (formulas) how these things can go, so while the third story was an intriguing anomaly for its male protagonist, the fourth story was the only one that, for me, justified the purchase price.

Verdict: If you like historical romances, worth the read for the research alone.
