Younger sister graduated from her nursing program this evening. Went to watch her walk. Got her a couple of the dolls of the world princess Barbies--Portugese and Danish. Would have gotten her the Viking one but I wasn't sure if her best friend was going to get it for her or not. Turns out Tara didn't, but ah well.

Had some fun conversation with Tara. She's also getting married next year so we talked some about that, then somehow the topic changed to Barbies (she's a collector) and I hadn't realized that Barbie is supposed to be only 16. With three younger sisters ranging to infant and no visible parents. We speculated on if they'd recently died in a tragic car accident, but then Tara pointed out that by her measurements Barbie has obviously had some plastic surgery. Poing! My brain hopped off down the bunny trail of parents who have plastic surgery done to their teenage daughter (who is a model or an actress to be able to afford her wardrobe)--this cries out to me that the absence of her parents is because the state took her and her sisters into protective custody.

I think I have too much time on my hands.

Ordinarily I'd agree with you on the too much time on your hands thing, but I have an epidemiological analysis of the fall of Oceanian civilization (from 1984) within forty years and a write-up on Gene Pool Contraction, Inbreeding, and Sex-Chromosome Degradation Among Isolated Smurf Populations lying around here somewhere, so who am I to talk?
