Argh. Apparently it is *not* possible to find out how much translators/script editors generally make. Grr. Well, shall call anyway.

Hm, id you do find out how much translators make, I would be interested in knowing. I've been curious about that for a while, but have met with limited success in finding out the answers.

Russian translation generally earns around 75 pounds per 1000 words (I can do ~600wph Russian to English at most), and interpreting nets 24.50 pounds/hour, in the UK. But that's for a different language, different country, different mode of work (freelance - regular job would pay rather less, but more, um, regularly) and in a different currency, so is probably of limited use to you..

*pounce!* Did not realize *you* read my LJ....

From what I have been able to find out, the standard rate for manga translation in the US is $2/page, with anime translation hovering somewhere around $8/minute.

$8/MINUTE? *sweatdrop* Oh, I take it you mean per minute of the anime, rather than per minute of your time?
