Costuming Sunday

Between talking with
hoshikage last night, and finally opening the newest edition of Squeals today, my hindbrain has decided to forlornly pipe up "But can't I go to Costume Con somehow?" In response to which, I looked up the dates, and replied "No. You can go to England and Wales instead."
Hindbrain promptly shut up. England/Wales > Costume Con. ^_^
That said, we've purchased our tickets for Saturday and Sunday of Wondercon, at the end of this month, so if anyone else is going, let me know!
I did further soothe the savage costume hindbrain by pulling out my 1928 sewing book to check what it says about seam finishes, and subsequently cutting out the 1925 Zig-Zag Dress (sleeveless version) in a flowery purple cotton from my stash. I'm debating what to use for the tie and to pipe the zigzags. I know I want white, since that's the contrast in the fabric, but I don't think I have anything the right weight. I'll probably stop at JoAnn's this week and eyeball their charmeuses. Though I may just end up going with muslin or linen....
