Wonderful Husband once went to a museum and saw statues of a deity who is apparently the god of Getting Stuff Done. I wish I knew this deity's name, because I would like to set up a small shrine to them. I would burn to-do lists in supplication before the altar, or something.

I made a list this morning. And fortunately the day wasn't nearly as hot as yesterday, so I didn't conk in the middle of it! (Today, apparently, was Wonderful Husband's turn.)

I have washed all the dishes, juiced a week's worth of oranges, paid bills, done my monthly IRA contribution, planted and watered a row of cucumbers and two rows of carrots, watered the thirsty-looking orchid tree, harvested and washed a basket of lemons, done grocery shopping, pruned back the remaining rosebushes (Wonderful Husband pruned the ginormous rosemary), made bread (new recipe; should have kept a closer ear on the machine because it apparently needs more water), deposited my paycheck, made Wonderful Husband play with power tools to hang my apron hook on the back of the kitchen door, and ironed about half the things.

I still need to: write the next chapter of Sanctuary, edit the next ten pages of the novel for my class, peel the lemons and make limoncello, juice the lemons and make lemonade, cut out a 1920s dress I want to make, start tomatoes, herbs, and various other plants from seed, and finish the ironing. But all that gets to wait until tomorrow. Or next weekend.

I think I need a shrine to that god too. I need all the help I can get.
