Health/Gym Stuff

I have started going back to the gym again. There are several reasons for this. Perhaps the most crucial is that the bone spur in my right heel has started healing up to the point where going to the gym is possible. (I'm not allowed back on the treadmills, however.)
The secondmost important reason is that the company Wonderful Husband works at was recently bought out by Dell. Which involves a switch onto Dell's health plan. Which we're neither of us enamored with, compared to Quest's. But, if we reach a certain health goal by March, we can get a "healthy lifestyle" discount of $800-900 each. Among other things, this target involves me dropping twenty-three pounds.
The tertiary reason is that 24 Hour Fitness sent me a "congrats for being with us one whole year!" e-mail which included a code for a free training session. Which I used on Thursday to learn how to use some of the weight machines and develop a plan.
Currently the plan involves four hours of cardio a week, and two rounds on the weight machines. So Thursday and Friday I went to the gym. I'm not sure this did my foot much good; twenty minutes on the elliptical, twenty on the bike, and five on the stair machine (I tried; that was as long as I could take it), and then upstairs to the weight machines. Plus situps. My arms hurt today; luckily my Saturday morning bellydance class counts for today's cardio.
I am expecting to be constantly sore for rather a while to come. I am hoping to lose weight and firm up. I am planning to go to the store tomorrow to get a packet of motivational gold star stickers to put on my workout calendar....
