Substitutiary Locomotion

sakon76Discovery of the day: golf balls only come in boxes of twelve. Which, given I needed maybe two, is kind of ridiculous.
(I don't actually require golf balls so much as something small, hard, and spherical that I can roll back and forth under my feet to tighten the tendon. Golf balls were simply the easiest, cheapest thing meeting these requirements to source.)
Also, I have assessed my phone manners at work and pretty much decided I am cool, calm, and graceful on the telephone - far more so than my coworkers. Yay, skill level up or something. Unfortunately I don't think "Pwns phones" is something I can put on my resume. Not in those words, anyway.
I have begun the slow seductive process of entering Homestuck fandom. In this case, the gateway hit was fanfic. And maybe a few fanarts. I am as yet digging my heels in and resisting. It took me a whole week to read through PHD Comics. And Homestuck is much, much longer... and not getting any shorter.

Yeah, I've been avoiding Homestuck too, despite friends RAVING about it. I'm not finished playing in Transformers, and when - because it /will/ happen eventually - I'm "done" enough in TF for it not be my MAIN love, I've already promised myself to get back into Ronin Warriors, Yu Yu Hakusho, and/or Yu-Gi-Oh! so I can FINISH some of all the stuff I'd started! orz DON'T NEED/WANT A /NEW/ FANDOM TO TAKE OVER MY LIFE, THANKS. o.o

Aaaaand . . . AUGH this is driving me NUTS! ^_~ "Substitutiary Locomotion" - that's the title of a song from a musical, one that was either originally done as a movie or made /into/ a movie . . . but I can't think which one! I just know I keep singing the words in my head when I see them, but I can't "go" anywhere with them to figure it out. WHAT'S IT FROM? =D;;;

Date: 2012-09-14 11:50 am (UTC)If you hadn't already bought the golf balls, I would have offered to send you some. My mom lives next to a golf course (not by choice - it was a dairy farm when she bought the house) and is always picking up balls out of her yard. (Insert "your mom" joke here...)
If the cats don't want to play with the extras, find the nearest golf course and offer them to players.
