Do not seem to be able to budge parents out of paying for the reception in its entirety. Mi madre pointed out that usually the parents of the bride pay for the whole shebang, stunning me. When did my parents ever go along with "usually"?! Grr. Argument #2 was that they're getting remodelling done and can't afford the whole reception as well. That one got shot down too. Should I accept that I can't win this?
