Culinary Triumph!
Jun. 29th, 2012 09:43 amFinally, I have perfected an incidental side dish recipe!
In my garden every year, for a number of reasons, I grow Swiss chard. It's a handsome plant. It's sturdy and low-maintenance. One seed literally gives you several plants of varying stem colors. It's an easy, tasty green to go out and harvest for noms.
So I have been messing about for a couple of years with sauteeing chard with minced garlic. Last night I included salt, pepper, and dried basil, and finally, finally got it just right. ^_^
Now to make those plants start really earning their keep!
On the flip side of "happy kitchen notes," though, while doing dishes this morning I discovered my (glass) sun tea jug has cracked where the base joins the body. :/ So I now have one with a cracked lid and one with a cracked body. At least I can Frankenstein together one working jug....
