Spent part of the day poking at various car sites, figuring out what I wanted, what I did not want, reading reviews, etc. Found a couple likely suspects at a local CarMax; after Wonderful Husband got home from work, we went over and test drove a couple. We ended up going with my first choice and buying a light blue 2008 Honda Fit with manual transmission and 35K miles.

It's impressively cavernous inside for something its size. Wonderful Husband's hair doesn't even brush the roof, which is kind of impressive, tall as he is....

That's how the inside of my Yaris is. Surprisingly huge, considering the car is the size of a jellybean.

Glad you found a new car so fast!

congrads and good luck.
2008 was probably good year for cars?
i have a aveo5 2008.
not that you probably care, but it was very funny story how i bot it.
i needed a car (my first car - chevy cavalier was sold when i lost my job after divorce) for job. seen on tv good deal and got to the yard. deal was for daihatsu. i wait for a sails woman to finish with customer and see her selling last of the cars on this deal. :( i am going to leave, because i don`t have money for different car and bamp head first into the manager of the yard! funny story goes, i apologise and he asks me if i was given good service and i answer that i don`t need service because my future car just left. then he asks why i don`t look on others from the same deal that aren`t daihatsu (i didn`t even asked if there are others!) and brings me to chevys on far part of the yard! one aveo5 goes home with me the same day ;)
sorry, i am very bored and rambling. very sorry.

Congrats on the new car! Honda devotee that I am, I'm especially tickled that the Fit appealed to you: it is one of my favorite big "small" cars on the road today. I hope it gives you many years of hassle-free motoring. My one piece of advice, probably unnecessary, is to have its regularly-scheduled maintenance done at a Honda dealership and to follow their recommended maintenance schedule. They haven't steered me wrong yet in ten years of ownership.
