Yesterday I left off editing at 129,243 words. Today I upgraded the version of Linux I'm using (old one was no longer supported), edited ten pages, and the new word editing program tells me I'm now at 125,310 words.
I know there is no way I took out nearly four thousand words in one session! My total page count is the same, so I didn't accidentally delete a whole chunk either.
My best guess is going to be that maybe the word-count algorithm changed so that it no longer counts the centered asterisks I use for scene breaks?
Stopping for the night at page 181/619.
