I just read chapters 1-3 and 5 of Diane Duane's next Young Wizards book. I think I'm going to enjoy this one. I also cruised the webpage of P.N. Elrod (I have four favorite living authors and the other two are Tamora Pierce and Lois McMaster Bujold) and found out that she's going to be at A-Kon next year. As are Tavicat Studios and Scott McNeil. The universe, it seems, is trying to make me go to that convention.

For now, though, I am going to bed.

Hm, is there a new Young Wizard book out? Oh, and what all has PN Elrod written? The name doesn't sound familiar.

It's called "A Wizard's Holiday" and will be out soon. The excerpts are on youngwizards.net, I believe. P.N. Elrod writes vampire books. Her main series is set in 1930s Chicago wherein the vampire is a detective. She also has a quartet in the same universe set just prior to the American Revolution, as well as a standalone in the same universe set just after Dracula. Plus she has written a couple of books in another universe featuring a vampiric former knight of the Round Table. I believe she's also written some Ravenloft books and one sci-fi book that I haven't yet read.
