sakon76Deadheaded my rosebushes today; hopefully I'll get more blooms before they shut down for the winter. Some of the bulbs are popping their greenery up; I'll bet it's the paperwhites getting an early start. Meantime, the lemon tree is just starting to flower again. I love the scent of citrus blossoms....
Wonderful Husband actually was the one wanting to go to JoAnns today; sadly, however, we discovered that there isn't much in the way of men's t-shirt patterns available, nor were there any decent green knit fabrics. And we were at one of the superstores! After assuaging the disappointment with lunch, we went ice skating. Where, once again, I was reduced to tears by my skates. I took them into the shop there, though, and they punched out the sides on the front a bit more, which made it better. Not perfect yet, but I was able to manage six goes around the rink after that; before I'd only been able to do four before having to take them off. In addition to thick calves, I have broad feet. Le sigh. Just call me Flipper.
My mother made a roast for dinner tonight and invited us over. I took her a quart of the sauerkraut as well as several pepino melons. And before going I managed to finally get around to planting some root vegetables and winter greens! I should have done so a month ago, but at least I did it now. After dinner, Wonderful Husband and I came home and changed and went to do an hour at the gym. Where one of the TVs was showing first the pilot of Once Upon A Time, then the second episode. I tried not to watch, since Wonderful Husband was upstairs (where there are no TVs) doing weights and we had it TiVo'ing at home. My success on the "not watching" thing was variable....
And now that the next ten pages of Queen's Choice have been edited for my class, it is way past time for bed....
