Holiday Monday for me! Not, sadly, for Wonderful Husband. He has a big project due at work soon and can't get the day off. Had he been able to, we would have gone to the you-pick farms today and probably had a better time.
Having a three-day weekend is somehow especially relaxing, though. It gives me enough mental time and space that I'm able to get everything done that needs to be done and actually enjoy things.
Like cooking. Bratwurst/baked potatoes/mixed greens is almost as simple as it gets, but I enjoyed the process. Similar for last night's dinner, which was crustless quiche jazzed up with half a packet of bacon, a couple of leeks and the last of the chard, both from the garden, and some mushrooms from the farmer's market. (Wonderful Husband prefers the crusted version of quiche, but [a] he's not the one making it, and [b] that takes twice as long to make start-to-finish.)
And now, time to start cleaning/gardening/whatnot.
