Things that are awesome: [livejournal.com profile] tainry's birthday! Also, crochet blooms on a chain-link fence.

Things that are not awesome: my father dropping his bike somewhere ~20 miles out from Tahoe. The bike has some damage, he may have some damage (we're waiting to hear from him again) but thank goodness for guard rails because apparently otherwise he'd've plummeted 40-50 feet into the river below.

And, not to leave off on a bad note, things that are amusing: the religious protesters have returned once again to the Disneyland area. Picture on three street corners giant yellow signs telling you to repent, that God will judge us all... and on the fourth corner, another giant yellow sign with an arrow pointing to a Mexican restaurant. IMMD.

D8 Yeah, here's to hoping your dad's okay and THANKFUL FOR GUARD RAILS.

Do these people /seriously/ have nothing better to do with their time? >,>

I walked by that fence quite a few times last year! Unfortunately it's gone now, as that part of the construction project was finished and the fence taken down - not to despair, though! There is more fencing up, and yesterday when we walked by we noticed that the crocheters have already been busy decorating it!

I hope your dad is OK, and yes, thank goodness for guardrails.
