Sep. 21st, 2003 12:39 amSaturdays are my long days at work. From 1pm-4:30pm I sit in the foyer (aka "the cave" because it hasn't any windows and is poorly lit) and answer the occasional phone call at the mine-themed restaurant where I work. So I bring projects with me, sewing or writing or both. Today I brought sewing. I finished up the seams on my long vest, so all that remains is clipping holes and fastening the grommets in, which I'll hopefully be able to do tomorrow before work. After finishing that, I worked on an embroidered pillowcase kit I'd grabbed from my project pile on the way out the door. Mind you, I am not entirely sure I remember where the first (finished) pillowcase has gotten to, but I'm sure it'll surface eventually. In the meantime, today I got to rediscover my love for satin stitching. And I do love it. It's nice and simple, smooth and soothing, and I do it well.
