The year being half over, Wonderful Husband and I are finally getting off our duffs about this year's big home renovation project: the master bathroom. Due to half-assed plumbing by the previous tenants, it's had a good chunk of the wall over the bath torn out since before we even moved in, as well as the empty space where a medicine cabinet would usually be, and an inoperative shower/tub. Plus some wonky piping going on with the sink.

So Wonderful Husband took measurements and we hied ourselves off to Lowe's last night to look at options and dimensions and prices. We're pretty much of the theory that we're only going to do this once, so we might as well do it right and increase the house's value.

We found a sink that made us both go oooh, and looked at various tubs. I really don't care if we get a whirlpool tub or not, but I'd like one that is deep enough. When I take a soak in a tub, it'd be nice to actually have the water cover my breasts. Regular depth tubs don't really do that. Unfortunately, it looks like all the tubs that are deep enough to do so come with bubbles. :/

ohh... whirlpool tubs are awesome and amazing and wonderful. trust me, after you have one you will be spoiled for any other bathtub ever again. (if i could have stolen my ex-MIL's when we left her place the time my ex and i vacationed there, i would have. it was divine!) if you end up getting one, though, make sure to get one with the little neck-supporting rests on the side; they make a world of difference in comfort. it adds a teenie bit to the price, but pays for itself in the long run.

...and i could go on for a while extolling the virtues of the whirlpool tub, but i'll stop now before i start sounding like a rabid fangirl. ~_^

Too late. XD;;;

S-sorry. Reading this really was entertaining, though. Makes me want to try one now. <3

My sympathies. Bathrooms are hard enough to remodel without half-assed work from previous owners. Ganbatte!

Now I'm singing "tiny bubbles" XDDDD I hope you enjoy the tub, even if it has bubbles you do not wish for! I know what you mean about wanting the water to cover your boobs. I hate taking baths where I can't be all covered.

My mother found a giant tub sans bubbles but it was quite the search. It's well and truly GINORMOUS (the tub-and-frame is the size of my entire bathroom at my house; the bathroom at the ranch house was designed with wheelchair accessibility in mind and is also ginormous, so it isn't such a big thing there, but.. yeah. :P) and SO AWESOME.

I really do not understand this insistence on making tubs so shallow. It's very annoying!
