drharper posted today that she'd gotten linked to on TVTropes for one of her Transformers. I amusedly followed the link to discover that I, also, was linked on the page. By someone whose username I recognize from ff.net.

Who seems to think I am male.

I can kind of get this... my username isn't really handy for determining gender. And I post my stories as being written by K. Stonham. But in my author's notes I frequently refer to my Wonderful Husband, and although I gleefully celebrate the fact that we're heading into a more enlightened age regarding one's choice of domestic partner, I would guess that 97% of people who refer to a husband are likely to be female.

So in conclusion, for anyone who might have been unsure: my chromosomes are a matched set. I am, in fact, female.

What's strange to me is that I always assume the opposite: a fanfic author WILL be female. I rather thought girl!writers were more common. I think I can count the number of male fanfic authors I have read on my hands and have fingers left over...

...of course, I once used 'her' for a guy, so now I stick to 'you' and 'the author' when commenting on a fic. Just covering my bases, right? ;)
