Did: water garden, turn chicken corpse into soup, bake bread, make two gallons of sun tea, sweep house, rediscover the dining room table, clear up sewing area somewhat, catch up on washing dishes, get up in time to attend 8am Saturday morning dance class, and edit three stories into postability on the Pit of Voles.

Did not: get to garden center to poke among bare-root rose varieties.

All in all, I think the ledger for the weekend should show my balance in black. :)

I also got about to a couple of estate sales and thrift shops this morning. Total spent: $11.71. Purchases: two pots for the garden, a glass frog for a flower vase, a new skirt, a hardback novel I've been looking for, and eight canning jars. My retail therapy, it is small but effective.

Awesome! So...did one of your chickens die? Or did you help it in the process? Did I ever tell you my chicken euthanasia story...

:)

No. Alas, I have no chickens of my own. Asthmatic husband does not like the idea until we have a property with much more yard space. This was one of those chickens that lived in the freezer until time came to roast it, turn it into a couple of dinners and a couple of lunches, and then finally render its corpse into about a gallon of chicken soup. :)

And, yes, I think you did tell me that story.... :)
