Cleanse/Purge (Sewingly)
Nov. 21st, 2010 08:04 pmHave spent the day beginning to organize my pattern collection. This is, in many ways, a frightening endeavor, in the "Ahh, finally finished with the vintage patt--aw, crappity, another box with more of them in it!" way. I'm up to four duplicate patterns at this point, and I know there are a few more lurking in the Simplicity Civil War section. Also, I have two of my wedding dress and a certain vintage doll clothing pattern, but I want to make sure that at least one of each has all the pieces. ^_^;; I've also, at Wonderful Husband's behest, started culling my packed fabric shelves. All the polyester fleece has gotten pulled, as has a good amount of stuff in the cream/beige colorway, since I've finally admitted I can't really wear those colors. To paraphrase, "Though the purging of the stash goes slow, yet it goes excessively fine."
I am contemplating whether or not, as November has been a month of writing, I should attempt to make December a month of sewing. Well, at least the first half of it. I suppose I could make the second half of it (when I will be in England and away from my sewing machines and patterns and fabric et al) a half-month of embroidery....
It's not like I don't have pieces to finish.
