Writing Win
May. 5th, 2010 10:51 pmApparently my story SBXZMB-038 won the "zombie story" challenge at
flesh_and_steel! By four votes, even, none of which was mine. (I voted for the story I most wanted to see more of, and somehow I don't feel that my story was my strongest writing, though I haven't yet pinpointed exactly why not.)
Also I got my second review in my writing class tonight and my second ten pages don't suck as badly as the first ten! I know it's actually all relatively good--there are a couple of my classmates who I can say honestly aren't near at my writing level as well as a few who I think are slightly better than I am--but it's nice to have it good enough that teacher and classmate commentary is minimal. I was amused when the teacher said that my writing was very elegant like I was with my hair all pinned up. My hair is waist length and since the weather's getting hot and we've been taking dance lessons again I've reverted to braiding and pinning it up into a bun. Saves Wonderful Husband from facial injury when he spins me fast and the tie on the end of my braid acts as a weapon!
Apparently my sister ended up driving by the place where he and I have our lessons and was slightly weirded out when she stopped at the light and saw the two of us dancing inside. I seem to recall that my mother has done that at least once as well. ^_^
