Back to work on chapter five.

Does anyone happen to know Chinese? Any dialect is okay. I just need two names derived from that language: Jade (male) and Amber (female).

I know no Chinese, of course, but I perused an online Chinese-English dictionary and came up with Xuan for Jade and Hou for Amber. I may be wrong, of course, but if you're only looking for imitation Chinese names and not real ones, maybe that will help...

Don't know if you still need this... Pinyin is the pronunciation in Mandarin. To spell it, ignore the numbers which represent the intonation of the vowels. Cantonese doesn't have "official" romanizations, so this is just my way of spelling... From Google's cache:

Amber: 琥珀 [Pinyin] hu3po4 [Korean] hobag [Japanese] kohaku [Definition] Amber. (rabi: cantonese is pronounced similar to "fupak")

Jade: 玉 [Pinyin] yu4 [Korean] og [Japanese] gyoku [Definition](1) Jade. (2) Pearl, gem, jewel, stone. (3) Beautiful, handsome. (4) To beautify. (rabi: cantonese is "yuk")

IMO, "Jade" is more likely to appear in a woman's name than a guy's name, as it signifies beauty. I seldom see "Amber" in people's names.
