Dress + Movies
Aug. 24th, 2008 10:31 pmHa. The 1925 dress is DONE. (Yes,
racerxmachina, I will take pics... maybe tomorrow, or maybe after I make up the matching tam'o'shanter.)
Saw Kung Fu Panda on Friday at the $3 theater and was very pleasantly surprised. It was actually a good movie! No idea how it compares to Kung Fu theatrical tradition, but I definitely liked it.
Finally saw Batman today at the $9 theater... was less scared and scarred by it than I thought I would be given how everyone kept going "OMG it is teh DARKNESS!!". Still, there was one section where I had to cover my eyes. I agree with the masses that Heath Ledger was excellent as the Joker, but I actually find myself hoping that the makeup artist(s) win an Oscar for their work on this one. I was... not surprised by who lived and who died. All in all, I find myself hoping Catwoman will be in the next film as the Nolan version of her would be interesting. (I kind of hope for a return to her jewel thief origins. Not that Michelle Pfeiffer wasn't fun in the role. The Halle Berry film doesn't exist. *Jedi Hand Wave*) What I'd also love to see is Nightwing, but I don't think a Robin would fit well in this version of the universe, and giving him an origin without that would be... tricky.
