sakon76Hmm. LJ tells me I have not posted in a week. Which seems a touch odd for garrulous me. On the other hand, for a good portion of that I was up in San Jose attending Costume Con, devoid of 'Net access.
The con was fun and interesting, if light on programming. I got to hang out with friends I don't see nearly often enough, and there were lots of pretty costumes to look at. I admit to not having used my camera nearly as much as I should've. I didn't participate in any of the costuming competitions but wore low-key comfortable historical costumes all year. I returned inspired, which is good since I have three (two and a half?) costumes to finish before Fanime.
The place where I work was repainted over the weekend and I'm slowly getting used to the new coloration, which I'm calling "Italian terra cotta" for short. (My other interpretation is "flesh and blood" and given that I work at a cremation society, I hope the pictures in the front room get replaced with the "art" pictures that have gone up in the rest of the building, to make the slightly more palatable color interpretation more obvious.) Unfortunately this means that furniture was moved and stuff on the shelves messed with so I'm having problems finding where, say, envelopes and mailing labels have been moved to....
My mother watered my community garden plot for me while I was gone, which was good because there was a heat wave. Everything seems to be thriving and sprouting, though, save for the broken-stem jalepeno plant which finally died; I need to replace it. I put up another trellis and planted some salad greens, spinach, and cilantro in the space between the trellises. Hopefully they'll be shaded enough to grow a bit before bolting.
