Green Thumbs Garden Report
Apr. 21st, 2008 09:58 pmSo after not getting over to the garden over the weekend, I stopped there today after work.
I have been visited by the weed fairy!
Apparently the seeds of all those weeds I hauled out of the plot think that all that water I've been putting on my plants was meant for them. The ones that've poked their head above-soil, however, no longer think that. And there were a lot of them. Y'know, guys, when you suddenly appear in a square I haven't yet planted, I know you're not supposed to be there. And your evil twins and stunt doubles in the squares I have planted stuff in? They gotta go too.
However! In addition to the weeds sprouting, so have some of the vegetables! Most of the Ruby Queen corn seeds I planted have come up, as have the Sugar Pie pumpkin seeds, the first set of radishes (I planted another two squares of mixed carrots and radishes today), and the beans that go with the Silver Queen corn, which is coming along nicely. I also got my first two trellises in order and sowed melon and zucchini seeds under them.
