Happy Greens
Apr. 12th, 2008 06:46 pmSo, being rather banged up and bruised and achy from the last bout of loosening the soil in the community garden, I was out of commission for a few days as far as further gardening was concerned. (I am, for the record, still a bit achy, but it's under control at the moment.) Wonderful Husband, though, can only put up with my whiny self-pity for so long before he does something about it. In this case, helps me finish the garden. ^_^
Braving driving my father's huge truck with no aircon in ~90 degrees, he ferried me first to one landscape supply center (which, we discovered at our 2pm arrival, closes at 1:30 on Saturdays), then to the other. Then we actually went over to the community garden where he did most of the work of loosening the second half of the bed and then chopping and winnowing down the resultant clods. Then he shoveled interminable wheelbarrowfulls of the compost we'd gotten at the landscaping center and helped me level out the bed. Which is now ready to be planted tomorrow.
I loves my Wonderful Husband, I does. (No, the rest of you cannot have him.)
