sakon76Due to yesterday being Lincoln's birthday and about half the government being closed, the boss decided to give us (our whole office of six people including him) staggered half-days off this week. Today was mine. Spend my afternoon running about to a British tea shop that's not too far away, and two libraries, then coming home to make banana bread and mulch the patio garden. Thus far I have discovered:
(1) The "IC Nippon" mark on the bottom of my chocolate set is a valid mark, though the books on Nippon Porcelain the Orange County Library system has give no further information on it. OTOH, one of them has a picture of another piece of the set, which interested me.
(2) Twee-looking tea shops should not be judged by what you see in the window when they're closed. I like it rather better than the fish'n'chips shop which is our other local British minimart.
(3) I need another bag, possibly two, of the cocoa hull mulch to finish the garden, but it looks much much better now.
(4) One of my coworkers is apparently the great-great niece of John Wilkes Booth. She's 60ish and mentioned that she didn't know this until she had to do a family geneology report in middle school. How's that for a skeleton in your family closet?

He does bean-to-bar chocolate, dark only, and the article claims he uses no other ingredients than cacao beans and sugar. He doesn't manufacture any other candy on his premises. Might be worth looking into for you...
