Does anyone know anything about repairing paper lanterns? The one in our bedroom suffered a touch of damage today and since it's a neat hexagonal shape with bamboo painted on the sides I'd rather not get rid of it. I know I'm supposed to use paste and just apply a new piece of rice paper to the interior, which sounds simple enough, but... what kind of glue or paste? And where do I get (white) rice paper from for the repairs? Any help on either of these questions would be appreciated.

A really simple repair would be to take regular white school glue and thin it out with some water, then use a small piece of tissue paper to repair it. If it's not a big hole, don't fuss with getting rice paper. If it's a significant piece of damage, hit a local arts and crafts store, they're bound to have something you can use.
