Behold my Dorkitude

Okay, Transformers Animated, having been given the benefit of the doubt up until this point, has pleasantly been decreed by both myself and
hoshikage to be "actually watchable." It's amusing to call the shades of influence in it... G1, of course (actual footage!), Beast Wars (the Great War as history theme, and Blackarachnia), and the '07 movie (too many points to list/name). Also (unsurprisingly), Teen Titans. (Bumblebee SOOOO is Beast Boy.) So I'll be downloading the first episode tonight and playing with the new satellite system to see if we can actually watch episode two tomorrow. I think it airs Saturdays, anyway...? None of the characters are their originals, of course, and Ninja!Prowl is still making me twitch, but I think I can live with it overall. Sari surprised me. Hooray for likeable token human!
Dinner last night was tacos (yum!), and tonight will be French Onion Soup. Yes, from scratch. I also made pumpkin muffins last night, which seemed to go over quite well. (Must post recipe for
sandpanther.) Wonderful Husband doesn't like the apple pie recipe quite as well as the old one, so I'm going to have to compare them and figure out what's making him ping. I'm guessing it's something to do with the new one having more spices, so I will have to play around with that.
Am proceeding apace on the current embroidery project; probably will finish the fourth flower sometime tomorrow. Four of my pepper plants from last year (one jalepeno, three habenero), having ceased fruiting, got pulled up and taken to the skip by Wonderful Husband, who also dried dishes as I washed them. Couple that with the vacuuming downstairs, and I might be starting to turn the tide on the battle of me vs. housework.... Or at least I can hope. Have also finally started going through my old issues of Gourmet and Bon Appetit, culling out recipes I'd like to try, so that I can get rid of the issues themselves. Am remembering anew why I finally stopped subscribing; their target audience is someone with a lot more money than me, and a different lifestyle....

When can we hope to see more TT or HBFS? :) *gets down on her knees for more HBFS*

Date: 2008-01-11 09:18 pm (UTC)It will be a real struggle to make sure they aren't all gone before you get home. I have decided that having a best friend who is fond of baking is a Very Dangerous Thing. :P
(On the bright side, I will have fic to trade for them tonight...)
