So, Saturday. Saturday I finished my first quilt in a while, was quite sure I was burnt out on the quilting muse for a while, and happily handed the quilt over to its new (temporary) owner.

Sunday I put in a fabric order for (1) extra-wide linen to be made into bedsheets and a new comforter cover, and (2) cotton for a shirt for Wonderful Husband since he's requested a new one and vetoed everything on the shelves. This meant that a few minutes after I paid for the order, I looked at the shelves and realized "oh sh*t more fabric incoming gotta get rid of some." Pulled out my bin of remnant rolls and a stack of quilting magazines. Found a pattern that will work for a gift quilt for a friend for Christmas, and five fabrics that will go together nicely for it.

Today I washed the fabric, dried it, ironed it, and cut it into strips. I also oiled my sewing machine (and the lovely thing is happy about that, purring like my cat). And now I've sewn the first set of strips together and am having to tell myself that it's bedtime, I can iron them in the morning and start sewing the next color on then....
