Once in a while when you've been on a relatively good streak, life decides to come up and slap you, just to say "Sucky stuff? Still here. Don't think it's gone away."

I ended up sitting in 3mph traffic for about an hour yesterday, trying to get to the one fabric store that had a particular fabric left. I'd called ahead--their computers said they had nine yards of it, but the clerk couldn't find it to hold for me. Either their computers lied, or lots of people wanted it because there was only about 2.25 yards left when I was there. Luckily, I only needed 1.5 yards. Then I popped over to the grocery store and picked up all the ingredients for the Thai Vegetarian Curry recipe I wanted to try. Except for, well, the actual red curry paste because they didn't carry it. So I stopped in at another grocery store which was on my way home anyway. They didn't have red curry paste, but they did have green, so I took a look at it, only to put it back on the shelf when the very last ingredient was peanut oil.

Very good way to kill my Wonderful Husband, that.

So I arrived home, disgruntled and with no idea of what I was going to make for dinner. And my wonderful, wonderful Wonderful Husband took a look at me and asked if I'd like him to make Japanese curry for dinner.

I love him.

As making tea for British him is an expression of my love for him, so is his making Japanese curry an expression of love for me... or at least I choose to interpret it as such. So despite the last that life is giving me more little love taps and reminders today, I am clinging to he made me curry....

I once picked up a two-yard remnant of some fake fur I needed, and asked the store manager to call me when more came in (it was being ordered). I waited nearly two weeks, got no call, and decided to go in and see what was up.

When I did, the manager told me the fabric had come in a week ago -- and all been sold.

I was furious. I told everyone I knew not to go to that fabric store...and not longer afterwards they closed.
