As expected, no one in the office has been tempted by my offer of squid. Not quite understanding why--I mean, it's basically jerky, just with a different base meat, right? But then, I'm one of those types of people who will happily try most things once. ("Most" meaning I'm still drawing the line at blowfish. Not into active self-poisoning.) And I acknowledge that this likely places me in the minority. *munches tentacle*

In other work news, the alarm on the door behind my desk apparently went off at 7:30 this morning. David, who lives in the building, says it wasn't him and that it was probably set off by the motion of my Stitch Sunshine Buddy. For those who haven't seen them, Sunshine Buddies are little plastic figurines about 4.5" tall that rock their heads back and forth. I have one of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. It sits on my desk about ten feet from the door. It has been sitting there for months now. Funny, it's never caused the alarm to go off before....

I don't have the highest opinion of my coworkers at times. But, fine, if *Stitch* is setting off the alarm, I'll take him home. We'll see what David manages to blame the alarms on next time. And in the meantime, my desk shall once again be devoid of any personal items whatsoever. A state which bewilders my Wonderful Husband....

*icky mental image of Stitch horking a loogie and setting off the alarm*

how odd... I have helium balloons over night in main office area and never once did they set off our very motion-sensitive alarm system, especially at 6am when the central air kicks in.

I think either the alarm system's wonky or a cat on the patio set it off or something.

"Let me be the first to welcome our new squid overlords, AND TURN THEM INTO TASTY JERKY!"
