Christmas quilts.
Dec. 10th, 2006 10:31 pmThe second lap quilt has had its back constructed, the front sandwiched with it and two layers of cotton batting, and in fact been quilted. All that is left to do is choose a fabric for the edging (this being an activity that requires daylight for color-matching purposes), to cut five one-and-a-half inch strips, and border the thing. Best of all, as I did a simple quilting pattern on this and was more careful, there is neither blood nor chalk that need to be washed out.
The first lap quilt has been washed, examined under white and standard lighting, treated, and put back in the wash again. I intend to examine it in daylight tomorrow morning and if all is well, it shall be dried and declared ready to gift. Huzzah for progress!
