Taming proceeds apace
Nov. 1st, 2006 06:25 pmSo once again I sit at my computer with a kitten in my lap. Unfortunately the recent spate of kitten taming has left Paris (the big cat) under the impression that she is somehow allowed into the workroom. How does one explain to her that this exercise is solely for the sake of accustoming feral kittens to human contact and that they are not allowed off of my lap? So the door is closed. Right now I have Beryl, who is the biggest of the triplets (I've been told that this is related to her being a queen, and that queen kittens are generally bigger than toms?) and also the most shy of human contact. However, though she hissed at me when I put my hand in their cage (her brothers politely sniffed my hand and did not hiss), she's rather tamely sitting in the well of my crossed legs, watching me type. The computer seems to interest her, which I find amusing. I think it's because the screen keeps changing. Am still pondering when to give her and her brothers a B-A-T-H as they are stinky kitties. On one hand, I'd like to get them even more used to human touch before traumatizing them; on the other hand, I'd prefer that they actually, y'know, didn't *smell*. And maybe were flea-less. Any opinions?
